Parish Day 2009

More & larger pictures are here.

As usual parish day of 2009 was celebrated on the last sunday of January (25 Jan). As customary, the celebrations began with Holy Mass (There was only one mass).

Towards the end of the mass this year’s jubilerian-couples were felicitated.

Prof. T.J.Mathew, Thengummoottil delivered the felicitation address.

Our vicar & asst vicar gave away the gifts.

By the time the mass ended,

O.A.Joseph & V.M.Devassy were ready at the counter and members had begun to arrive at the scene.

There was a wide variety of items donated by our members.

Our beloved vicar orally inaugurated the auction and as usual N.J.John was on the podium under the jack fruit tree to conduct the show.

It went on & on & on.

Lunch was served to the children first, then to the rest.

Even during lunch auction was going on.

Last item being auctioned:

Auction ended by 1405 hrs & lunch by 1430.
Competitions for children began by 1440hrs.

One and all participated very enthusiastically in all activities. There were some competitions for elders as well. (Tug-of-war was dropped out.)

Then it was tea break.

Then came sundarikku pottu kuththal.

By 1740 began the cultural programmes.

After the report presentation of different pious organizations of our community, a partial prize distribution was held.

Then came the felicitation address of the guest of honour of the evening.

Then Fr. Vicar inaugurated our computer facility & computerization drive by issuing the baptism certificate to Josephachaayan.

Then followed the rest of the prize distribution, selection of lucky family and vote of thanks.

And….here come the variety entertainments.

Oldies also did not stay out.

In between some budding videographers were busy recording the events.

By 2050hrs variety entertainments came to an end and all dispersed for dinner & then back to pavilion.

Hi Romy Joseph,
This is a good suggestion. I really wanted to do that and as a beginning I had already approached the trustees of various times in person & requested them to provide their details and photographs through e-mail. Unfortunately the responses were very discouraging. Till now nobody has provided any material what so ever for that purpose.
Shall we start with your family members? If yes, please provide brief details and photographs through e-mail to georgedappilly@gmail.com .
To Whom So Ever It May Concern: PLEASE TREAT THIS AS A PERSONAL INVITATION TO YOU & RESPOND
